There are two different design shapes to pick out from: hexagonal (5 sides) and ringed. The medical images in the pendant are known as the Ascelpius, which is the snake wrapped up the pole, and the Caduceus, which is the same but the snake bears wings. These two symbols are the most common icons used by the AMA (American Medical Association). Saturated, solid cherry-red enamel emphases several of the pendants, while others are just created in all 14k gold. The two AMA icons are stamped onto the pendant, to give them a embossed feel. Each pendant goes with a solid buckle, to avoid breakage. The weights of these pendants deviate from nine tenths of a gram to four and eight tenths of a gram.
